Depending on whom you ask, the LTC in the name of this wine either stands for “Les Trois Cuvee” (translated to “The Three Blends”) or “Little Touch of Chardonnay”. Pierro make one of the most highly regarded Chardonnays in Australia, and with this wine you are given the briefest of glimpses at their famed Chardonnay, at a much lower price.

A little bit about the winery:

Pierro is best known for its Chardonnay which Jeremy Oliver describes as being “of monumental power, but of simultaneously smooth and silky delivery.”

Established: 1979
Cases produced per year: 7500
Exports to: UK, USA, Japan and Indonesia

Tasting Note: Vibrant straw-yellow in color. Fresh, grassy Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc aromas on the nose. Excellent balance and structure to the palate with a touch of supporting oak behind the citrus and passionfruit flavours. The touch of Chardonnay does wonders. The lengthy finish is refreshing and leaves you wanting more, even after the last drop has been poured.

Lets just say I have an order in for a few bottles of Pierro Chardonnay.

Drinking Window: Best drunk 2006 until 2008.
