Region: Hunter Valley, New South Wales
Winemaker: Steve Dodd
Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Oak: 9 months in new French Oak
A little bit about the winery: Established in 1972. Specialising in Shiraz and Semillon which are both made by local winemaking legend Karl Stockhausen who has been making wine in the Hunter Valley for over 35 years.
Tasting Note: Yellow-golden in colour. Shows good complexity on the palate for a young Chardonnay. The French oak blends in well and did not overpower the fruit. Quite a full-bodied style which would definitely suit drinking with food. A good length and persistent finish.
Drinking Window: 2005 – 2007
